I've been using mine for about 8 mos now and so far it works flawlessly. I have a 6 burner commercial stove top and it handles whatever is cooking. I especially like that it is easy to keep clean because it has mostly large smooth surfaces without nooks and crannies for grease / dirt to accumulate.

I like to cook some real Chinese food. But that one make your whole house like smoking room and the taste take long time venting out by the under counter vent. This one, looks like a tornado when put in 10 minute boost position. Of course noisy. But make everything vent out very quick . I love this one. It's really my best KitchenAid.

Was super excited to add this to our KitchenAid package. The vent piece that came with it was a little short, but had some stainless fabricated locally and was able to utilize the piece it came with as a wrap-around to cover the seam and keep the "branding" on the vent. The lighting is much better than I've had on past vents and the vent settings work wonderfully! The style of it goes perfectly in our modern-style kitchen!

Vent works well, isnt too noisy, has great lightning and looks nice, which checks all the boxes. Only reason I didnt give a 5 is the auto feature needs more tuning to meet my needs. So here is idea. Give a sensitivity setting, maybe like 5 levels, so it can be customized better. I had to give up on using auto because its not sensitive enough for me.

Had this hood installed as part of a new home build. Been using it for a few months and very pleased with the fan speeds and the auto fan option. Only thing that is a little disappointing is that there is very little contrast between the control panel and function touchpads when they are not on.

Loyal to Kitchen Aid until I bought this hood fan

We built a house and we decided to go with this model as we always liked how reliable Kitchen Aid appliances were in our past house - we also bought a counter top gas stove, fridge, dishwasher and wall oven and microwave for our kitchen. We were very happy Kitchen Aid customers until we started using the hood fan. Since day one, we are having an issue: Grease spilling from the back of the hood to the backsplash walls. On our first time cooking in our new house, we pan seared meat and vegetables and after we finished, we noticed grease spilling from the hood's back to the backsplash wall and grease accumulating at the corners of the flat surface at the bottom of the hood. It was day one of use, all brand new and it felt like I had the hood for 5 years and never cleaned the filters - it was just disgusting. We complained to the builder and to the company who installed the fan and they had explained that it's doing its job, which is to pull air and that the hood was made more to pull steam....not good for grease. Also, they commented that it was not the first time they had complains like that for the product.... I was baffled and disappointed as we had Kitchen Aid Over the Range Microwave and never had issues and a friend of mine who has a Whirlpool equivalent of this hood do not have issues like I do. I hope you can do better next time

Good power in the fan. Like the multiple light and fan settings. Did the installation myself and it wasn't nearly as difficult as I thoughtit would be. A decent do-it-yourselfer can get it done. Location of the lent cover screws could be better.

I purchased this for my kitchen remodel. Our past vent hood recirculated the air, and I like that this now vents to the outside. The sound levels are very good, and I love the automatic fan level mode. It catches alot of grease, and we have to clean it pretty often. I wish it would have come in standard black (vs. black stainless) to better match all of my appliances.

We installed this in our last house and loved it; now in a new house and have just ordered it again to replace the one here. I like it has a temperature sensor that kicks it to higher speed when range temperatures increase

Nice product. Like the 10min boost and Auto Fan options. Sucks all the high order cooking smells. Leaves the home fresh with candle fragrance. Two replacements so far for malfunction of vent buttons. Very sensitive.

Issues after 3 months :(

We started having an issue about a month ago, at it being only 2 months old. Lights would come on by themselves. I thought perhaps it needed a thorough cleaning, so I keep it extra clean once a week. But as of right (month 3), the front two lights don't turn on. Really angry, as this wasn't cheap and we had it professionally installed. All our appliances are new, and our Kitchenaid fridge lights stopped working 2 weeks ago. After reading other people's issues, I wish we never got this hood or the fridge.
