Not Easy to Clean Especially with Affresh

I am generally satisfied with the functioning of this cooktop, but very dissastisfied with its cleanability, particularly when using the Affresh cooktop cleaner which is recommended and also produced by Whirlpool, the maker of Kitchenaid products. It takes more effort and time to clean the white flecks of paste which result from using the Affresh than to clean the cooktop stains!!! I just had a frustrating phone call with a Affresh representative who merely stated that since it is a paste there will be residue. There is residue and there is RESIDUE! The video on the Affresh website does not show any of the white flecks of paste which result from trying to remove the residue.

Aesthetic design and totally user friendly. Different levels of heat to suit your purpose. With the small low heat burner, you do not have to exercise constant vigilance. With the high heat burner you can get the job done. Even heating throughout on any pot or pan. Cleaning is a breeze.

Purchased in May, installed the end of August. That was an issue but the cooktop works well. The grates are heavy and support all cookware nicely. Burners easily adjusted. Cooktop cleans easily.

We purchased this beautiful cooktop in February and absolutely love it! It replaced a stainless Maytag cooktop which was fine except for trying to stay ahead of the unsightly scratches. Kitchenaid is the only top brand company that manufactures a gas on glass cooktop and this one does not disappoint! It is so easy to clean and the grates are positioned high to provide a full view of the flame for the center positioning of my cookware. The high BTU burners and simmer burner are amazing for all your cooking needs. I love to cook and Kitchenaid has made a product that has enhanced my cooking experience. Thank you Kitchenaid!

There are no lights to indicate a burner is on. There is no auto shutoff if the gas is on and the flame goes out (or auto relight) The glass shows every little speck of grease or dirt. It does come clean relatively easy but the smudges might make you crazy.

This is a beautiful stove top with a lot of power. However, I'm not sure about the other reviews when they say it is easy to clean. It's easy to clean but regardless of what cleaners/cloths you use, streaks are left behind.

This is a beautiful cooktop and I love how the surface is flat. it was clearly created with the consumer in mind to make sure that you can take everything off the top quickly and easily to clean it. I love that it™™s nearly flush with the counter. No more reaching and cleaning around weird grooves where gunk would get stuck in my junky old stovetop. NOTE IF INSTALLING YOURSELF: it does NOT come with a template for your counter cut-out. You just have to measure yourself and mark it. Otherwise, as long as you have the cut out already, it™™s just a simple drop in and easy hookup to your gas and electric. We installed it ourselves and it was a breeze. Functionality: even flames, easy to control and turn on/off with the knobs, no functionality issues. The knobs aren™™t easy to hit/turn on accidentally, which is a good plus for safety. Other details: the grates are super tall. They are also very heavy duty (literally they™™re heavy). Please make sure you have enough space if installing under cabinets. Everything sits 3-4 inches above the counter when all is installed.

I received this product in exchange for my honest review. After receiving this cooktop I can say that it truly is a game changer. This cooktop has 5 burners that distribute heat evenly on my stainless steel pots and pans. After cooking cleanup is easy since I can throw the grates in the dishwasher. My only concern is the residue left over from the sticker on the glass top that I still have to figure out how to remove without scratching the surface. Otherwise, 10/10! Absolutely a must for the kitchen!

Kitchen Aid gas over glass stovetop is amazing!

Let me start off by saying this stove top is solid. The glass is for starters, so easy to clean. Everything that came with this is a solid steel or stainless steel. Installation was as simple as removing my old counter top stove and installing this in an 1 hour. The flame is so easy to control. High btu for fast cooking, or low and steady for simmering. Overall, beautiful on top of counter, even just as a display when not in use.

This cooktop is amazing! It is replacing an old stove in my kitchen and let me tell you, the difference is night and day. Installation was a breeze, just make sure you use a bigger gas line so you won™™t have any problems with the gas distribution (which is great by the way). Cleaning the cooktop is also super easy to do. KitchenAid nailed it with this cooktop.

I™™m in the process of remodeling my kitchen and I just received this gas on glass 46™ cooktop, first of all the design is beautiful look very elegant, it was delivered in a big box and installation was offered which is amazing, the box comes whit everything that you can need for the natural gas or propane installation. I love how the design looks very clean and that also looks very easy to clean and maintain. Definitely it will last years . It is a beautiful investment that I recommend for everyone

worst ever service model. Never Whirlpool again!

quality is not only about perfect product, It is about experience, especially when the client has an issue. In my case the experience with KitchenAid is a totally disaster and disappointment. Think about it before you are purchasing anything. You may like the product until something happens, then you will need to fight against the service model, if you could even reach it of course. I was enjoying the product a few days until I found one day a crack from the center of the glass. see the picture. Nothing dropped off there. Since that I have been in a process to get a service to fix it. the KitchenAid warranty service sent me to Dan Marc who came to me and sent me back to KitchenAid with the report - system is under warranty. Then KitchenAid service said it is not covered by warranty and sent me to the extended warranty service who redirected me to Domestic and General No one have been responding to my e-mails at customersupport@us.domesticandgeneral.com when I was making calls to 866-333-3134 (supposedly to Domestic and General), I needed to hang on the line for about 2+ hours playing with menu number on autoresponder (do not present it as IA), then talking to KitchenAid (not Domestic and General!!!) associates asking me the same questions - spelling my personal data, explaining my problem after what they re-direct me to another line, then another line and many rounds of this carousel for hours. Do you have 1-2 hours daily to waste like that? think about that. For sure everyone feels my pain and very sorry before playing with me a ping-pong and sending me to another line. finally after 3 weeks I have managed to schedule an extended warranty service appointment and they are sending to me same company Dan Marc with already conclusion in the request before the visit has happened "Glass Top - something dropped or was set on it.glass top is broken". So- they are not listening to what you say!, they are just follow the process (very stupid process). I assume this is a process to escape accountability. Think about that before placing your order.

Quality is not about product only, but about experience, especially when the client has an issue. After a few days of using and enjoying it I have found a glass cracked from the center. Already 3 weeks in process reaching to the service and extended warranty service trying to find the ways to replace it. No one has been responding the customer support by the e-mail: customersupport@us.domesticandgeneral.com When I was on the phone call supposedly with Domestic and General at 866-333-3134 I was still talking to KitchenAid services and they ping-ponged me from one operator to another within 2 hours; every time with the same conversation - please give your personal details, spell it, describe your problem, ohh, I am sorry, I will re-direct you to another department and then the same carousel with pressing buttons at the autoresponder menu and talking to another person the same story. They are not listening to you for sure, just following the process (very bad process) and re-direct you. I was explaining many times my problem with the statement - nothing dropped or fell onto that, but at the service request I finally set up they put the statement - Glass Top - something dropped or was set on it. glass top is broken. this statement is without any expertise, just from someone's imagination before they inspected that. I assume to not take responsibility to repair by extended warranty.
