This is THE worst refrigerator ever. It was great the first several months but then began to sweat then freeze my food every day. Temp changes happen in freezer too. GE Service has been to my house at least 10 times in the last 2 yrs. Initially, they did software update, changed parts, and my food still freezes and spoils due to the extreme temp. A repair tech told me its a design flaw. Turns out he has the same unit with the same problem. Today I woke up to my freezer filled with frost.

This refridgerator was installed in our 5th Wheel before we purchased it. There are dents in the doors so they are supposed to be replacing it through the RV Dealership. Unfortunately, the installer did not turn on the waterline so we cannot attest to the icemaker or water dispenser. We can only attest to the refridgerator's ability to chill and freeze appropriately. So far so good, otherwise. The failure to provide full service does not reflect upon the refridgerator's functionality, but upon the installer's poor quality of service.

Purchased this fridge April 2022 with a 3 yr service plan, 2 months after plan expired food started freezing in refrigerator compartment and no longer held temperature of 37 degrees! So had to pay for a repair company as our plan expired. They replaced main control board, damper control assembly, defrost heater and sensor assembly, freezer temp. sensor and fresh food temperature sensor. They ended up returning labor charges to me due to no change in the freezing problem. So I am keeping essentials toward front and bottom shelves and running up and down stairs as I am forced to use basement fridge until I can afford to replace with anything other than this brand!

Unfortunately, the refrigerator literally died on me after just over 4 years which I believe is completely unacceptable. However, while it worked, I was very happy with it. I love the water dispenser inside so that the front of the refrigerator is sleek and clean. I just hope that this one lasts longer!!

Garbage Fridge, will break DO NOT BUY

I bought the fridge in July 2024, in Jan 2026 the fridge has begun building up ice to the point the fan is rubbing and making awful noises. I have contacted GE and their recommendation is that I hire a repair person for $200 to inspect the unit and have repairs in addition to that cost. GE said the 1 year warranty has expired and they are not responsible. I have replaced several parts already and spent hundreds in repairs. The fridge is less than 2 years old and breaking down. The fridge it replaced, 15 years old, is working without issue in the garage and has been needed during the repairs. GE is a garbage company now with no customer service or reliability with their products. I recommend NEVER buying from them.

Big Mistake Purchase 5/26/2026

We bought this refrigerator in 2-22-24. The top shelf would freeze everything plus bottom drawers would freeze everything plus ice form behind the drawers and top where the cold air go out. We had the tempsettings seet at recommended settings. We clear the ice constantly. Then November of 2025. The top would stop cooling. Called an repair company, they replaced an panel in the refrigerator that sends cold air up ( the same pnl that had ice ). Then March few months afterwards it did the same thing. Called an other company replaced an other part. Went out again in 2 weeks. They been outhere4 times since,including today.so far I. Have spent over $600.now they want an other $ 540. They said everything had been changed except the door seals.$ 390 for the seals $ 150 labor. I bought this refrigerator on sale at Home depot for $1400 plus $97 for new water hose for ice delivery. So fare another $400 my repair bills will equal the cost of this worthless refrigerator in 2 years old. Nothappywith GE. Never buy again. Repair guy both companies said ge has most of their business.

Drawers and door shelves-flimsy.

Many customer complaints, as well as us, of flimsy drawers and door shelves--thin plastic, and bind when closing if you don't lift and push them straight in. Breaks easily, hard to replace drawers, if available at all. Prior refrigerators were better built, thicker sliding drawers and shelves, with better quality sliders would make a big difference. As others have also said, freezer drawers have minimal access to add or remove items. Other functions are working properly.

It would also freeze our food in the the refrigerated section. It™€™s not even four years old. This has been the worst appliance purchase we have ever made. I really wanted to love it. Water dispenser is hard to reach while holding a cup and the button is difficult to press. The interior shelves and drawers are cheaply made. The unit fan is very noisy. Overall, I am very disappointed. We have always owned GE appliances and have generally been happy. If it were not for the hefty restocking fee from the appliance retailer, I would return the unit.

Installed July 2024 and already have a cooling issue with refrigeration section! My apologies. The above needs to be revised because the problem turned out to be operator error. The "Open Door" alarm had been disarmed. The service tech could see that one or more doors had been left open causing the damper door in the freezer to freeze not allowing air to reach the refrigerator section. The "Open Door" alarm would have prevented this had it not been disarmed.

Four stars for an almost perfect design

We are very happy with our new GE counter-depth French door refrigerator. It fits nicely in the space we have. We love the double door design with the freezer drawer below. The reason for only four stars is the freezer drawer feels rather shaky when being pulled out or pushed in. Unlike another brand's French door refrigerator that we have in our primary home that has a solid glide feel, this one wobbles like it is on a single track in the middle rather than a proper drawer mechanism with a slide on both sides.

We especially like the depth of shelves in the doors and the ability to adjust the arrangement of the shelves to accommodate larger bottles! This is a nice looking refrigerator but I would return it if I could. It makes a constant loud buzzing noise that is very annoying. The design has significantly less usable storage space than my traditional top freezer model, especially in the freezer. My 28 year old refrigerator had much more usable space and was so much quieter. Very disappointed.

I love the counter deep refrigerator, it makes the kitchen look bigger and there is plenty of room for all my food. The shelves came installed in just the right spots for tall and short items. The fruit and vegie drawers fit everything too. I am very happy with the looks and function.

Beautifull overall EXTERIOR appearance; interior refrigerator shelving cannot be adjusted to accommodate a standard one (1) gallon plastic jug except by collapsing one shelf in ONE location; freezer compartment would be useful WITHOUT interior sliding bin which is a waste of what would otherwise be a still insufficient storage space

Tiny capacity but BRIGHT

The capacity seems so small with so much room on the doors but not on the shelves. The freezer is a joke with only a tiny shelf and 2 bins that are small and too deep to find what's on the bottom! On the plus side it is BRIGHT inside and you can readily see what's there.

10 days in and not a complaint or worry. A quiet unit with good shelving. Capacity is perfect for our small family. Happy the size and dimension of the unit fit snuggly into spot.

Bought this GE Refrigerator/freezer just before Thanksgiving when our 20+ year GE refrigerator clunked out. Since our kitchen has a smaller space for a refrig -- this one exactly fit in that space! However, it is smaller than most but the interior space is arranged to make maximum use of the space so everything that was in my older but larger model fits in here nicely! I do miss my butter holder in the door tho as I have that and the cheese products in the bottom drawer but have to open both doors and pull out drawer to get at butter! Will maybe find another location for it that is more handy. . . . I appreciate NOT having the ice/water in the door--seemed like that was the first thing to "break" on my old refrig. It's handy to have ice maker just in the freezer and the ice it makes seems really hard! Also, the little waterspout in the refrig is handy to have but since the hose is small -- it takes a bit for it to fill up a glass of water. Overall -- this is a great appliance for it's size with many features that cost much more on an more expensive model!

This refrigerator is garbage. Doesn't work. Immediately after delivery it was no good. Have to wait 2 days extra for a tech to look at it. Will not be buying anymore GE products.
